Shannon Payne

Where are you from? Franktown, CO
Where did you attend College? Went to UCCS (class of '09)
What are your PRs? 3k: 9:58, 5k: 16:58, 10k: 35:43, Others: to be determined

Bio: I started running completely on whim as a freshman in high school because I sucked at (all) other sports including but not limited to: tennis, softball, swimming, basketball, volleyball, anything else with a ball, and all forms of dancing. I spent the majority of my first cross country season as the recipient of many finish line pity-claps while running 28-30+ minute 5k's. But later I got really excited about running when I broke 7 minutes in the mile that track season, and things took off from there (embarassingly true story). I improved my 5k time by over 12 minutes from freshman to senior year, and that was neat. I enjoy daily jogs, various forms of literature, Pictionary, Nutella, and Flotrack.

Bio: I started running to lose weight after having my kids. I played vball in high school and college and after having kids running seemed like the best way to lose the pounds. I would run one race a year and when I realized I was pretty good at it with no training joined a local running group and the fire started to burn. I got serious after running my first BB in 2009. I stayed to watch the elite race and thought wow that would be something to compete in a field like that and finishing in a stadium of thousands of people. So I went to Doug Bell and asked for his help. The last two years have been incredible. Being able to compete in elite races, traveling to USA championship races and wearing the BRC jersey has been an awesome experience.I have definatly had my ups and downs from wanting to quit to thinking the sky is the limit. With two little boys, Chase 6 and Tripp 4, it is a lot of work and a big challenge but the journey is worth it.

Ali Williams

Where are you from? Frederick, CO
Where did you attend College? Western State College
What are your PRs? 1500 - 4:16, 3,000 - 9:18, 5,000 - 15:45, 10,000 - 33:19, 15K - 51:56

Bio: It was not love at first step between me and running. I would sometimes walk during training runs and races early on in high school. It's been a rocky relationship at times and there have even a couple of break-ups here and there. But, I've come a long way since those high school days and I can't imagine my life without running. Running/Training is synonymous with eating and sleeping in my daily routine. I am fortunate to live and train in Colorado where there are incredible places to run. Here are a few of my favorites: Colorado Springs - Cheyenne Canyon Stratton Open Space Palmer Park Garden of the Gods Santa Fe Trail Gunnison/Crested Butte - Hartman Rocks Trail 401 Mill Creek Denver/Boulder - Mesa Trail White Rocks Milavec Lake
